Homophobia

I get why you don't agree with homosexuality. I really do. You think it's against God's Laws, it's unnatural, it turns you on even though you're straight: WHATEVER.

But why must you hate gays, though?

I don't agree with your views.

I don't agree with your actions.

I don't agree with your sense of style.

Do I have to hate you then?

love ian mckellen, ellen degeneres and chris colfer :) not so much the other blokes (i lol'ed when i saw rob patz though).

why is it such a human reaction to hate and destroy everything that's different from us? why should people care so much about who other people love or what they do in the privacy of their bedrooms when it's not affecting them at all?

while i don't deny that there are homophobic non-religious people, almost every muslim and christian i know are virulently homophobic. scriptures and tribal mentality are at work in concert here. i write in defense of homosexuality occasionally just to break the illusion of solidarity and universal abhorrence of gay people... i think if more people is more outspoken about accepting homosexuality, we'd see them being treated the way they should be treated - like the human beings they are.

kudos for doing so :)

You don't heart Sir Elton John? I'm glad someone got the Edward joke. I was worried somebody might say, "RPatz is not gayyyyyy! You're gay! GO DIE LA!"

It's in our nature. Literally. What does the immune system do to foreign antigens? Kill the shit out of them. Haha.

I don't see the correlation between religion and homophobia. I mean as in the second part of homophobia, the angry violent side. The mainstream view of most religions does not accept homosexuality, yes, but not in one scripture does it say that these people should be punished for their sexual preference.

Yes, it is said that God punished the buggers or hated this people and that people but I've never read a line in any scripture where God says, thou shalt hate these faggots and their buggery. There are lots of instances, however, where God demands people to treat everyone with kindness and love.

In Kelantan, for instance, we are more accepting of gays than we do in KL/Selangor. Weird but true.

I do realize, however, that jocks and sportsmen - men with more testosterone than the average male - are more likely to be homophobic than others. Manly men.

The thing is society imprinted certain ideas on what men should and shouldn't do. Boys should play sport. Boys shouldn't cry. Boys should go to war.

I forgot what's the point of this comment.

Oh and since you like Chris Colfer, you're automatically cool in my book.

My own fight against homophobia begins with me acting as gay as I can be around homophobes and answering very vaguely when anybody asks me whether I'm straight or gay.

nope, sir elton john doesn't get my burners going, unfortch. but if we're talking about famous brit musicians who are gay, i love freddie mercury :P

i grant you all your scriptural arguments, but i did say "scriptures and tribal mentality are at work in concert here". am i correct in pointing out that in a lot of muslim countries where syariah law rules the land (or at least enjoy considerable influence amongst the people), the penalty for homosexuality is harsh? most imprison gays, but some - like nigeria, iran, mauritania, saudi arabia, somalia, the u.a.e, yemen - executes gay people. it'd be ignoring large tracts of evidence if we choose to ignore that these policies were strongly influenced by both the qur'an and the hadith.

i've written not too long ago about the ugandan bill hoping to introduce the death penalty to gay people. googling "eat da poo poo k0k bl0k" would take you to it, in case you're interested :)

haha, i did drew some suspicions towards my sexuality in my college for being a staunch defender of gay rights, haha. not that that's anything wrong with being mistaken for a guy guy. they have better taste and fashion sense after all.

there's also a scientific paper on how homophobia is associated with being closeted homosexuals. a lot of outspoken anti-gay american preachers have been caught with male escorts (most famously ted haggard) - and it happened so often that i'm beginning to wonder if that paper's really accurate, in spite of its poor research design. maybe a proper one should be devised :)

KSW: Freddie Mercury was bi, wasn't he? Can't really remember. Does that make me a good Queen fan or a bad one? You know, for not caring about his sexuality?

Reza: Most of my bad experiences from birth til now are with straight people. Hell, only straight people seem to want to make my life miserable. Maybe I should hate them too?

haha. i guess. but then again. i never hate them at the 1st place but they make me hate them. how thats so? maybe they should take a look of themselves too? hard wen u find a 'good' fren and suddenly they told u they like boys and wanna see u naked fuck u. not once but THREE times. for god sakes. be a fren but dont try to fuck me. like i said. gays make me hate them. well i dont really hate. just ignoring. in the end. its a matter of choice rite?
